3E was proud to walk for a cause in the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk 2018 as part of our CSR initiative to give back to society through charity.
3E Accounting was proud to be part of the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk 2018. The walk took place in August and brought together people from all walks of life. Volunteers, social service users, community and people from all backgrounds came together for one momentous cause. The aim? To build a community and a nation that cares and shares.
This year’s Community Chest Heartstrings Walk was its 35th anniversary. It was a step forward in helping to empower lives.
About the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk 2018
Community Chest Heartstrings Walk is organised by the Community Chet and co-organised by Marina Bay Sands. Participants at the 2018 walk took a stroll through the bicentennial-themed route around Marina Bay. The walk was 4km long and saw 8,000 eagerly participating to raise funds.
The 2018 walk featured the annual Sky Vertical Marathon race held exclusively at Marina Bay Sands. Participants worked together in groups to race 57-storeys up Tower 3. Other highlights of the walk were a family carnival at the event plaza and of course, the 4km walk.
Thanks to the efforts of all who participated, the total amount collected was more than $2.75 million. All proceeds from the collection will be allocated towards 200 social service programmes. These programmes are supported by Community Chest. The funds will be helping special needs children, at risk youth, disabled adults, families in need, people with mental health conditions and helpless seniors.
At 3E Accounting, we have a long-standing history of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that are near and dear to our hearts. We are firm believers in giving back to the community. Partaking in the walk was a wonderful opportunity to do our part. Raising funds for charity and getting healthy in the process.
Who Are Community Chest
Community Chest is part of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS)’s engagement and fundraising arm. The organisation uses a three-pronged community focus approach:
- To help those in need
- To care through volunteering
- To share through donations
Established in 1983, the roles and responsibilities of Community Chest are aligned with that of the NCSS. It aims to ensure that everyone has a chance to live life with dignity in an inclusive and caring society.
The organisation’s mission is simple, but vital. They aim to raise funds for the needy in the great nation of Singapore. To do this, Community Chest builds impactful and collaborative partnerships with several individuals and organisations. Each partnership works towards empowering social service users and help them lead fulfilling lives.
